While I'm glad I went up on my front squat by 15lbs. I am so tired of these max lifts. I feel like everyone wants to outdo the other and I just hate that kind of competitiveness.  Almost makes the cheering on others seem fake.  One person didn't want to put their numbers up but they needed to and the coach did it for her.  I just want to go hide in a corner away from everyone when doing lifts.  Not to mention I hate knowing how much weight is on the bar.  I get psyched out knowing.  But everyone else seems obsessed with wanting to know.  And this is one subject I don't even dare bring up to a coach especially one of them because they all love the numbers game as I call it with the competitiveness.

I was able to get to the gym a little early and ran a mile.  My time wasn't great but it was 18:34.  I was hoping to be a lot closer to 15 minutes but I will get there.  I still don't like running.  Too much time to think and as soon as I hit the pavement I was in tears.  Just being overwhelmed by not losing any thing the last 3 months is just too stressful.

Grasping at Straws

Nutts

For time: 29:55

10 Handstand Push-ups
15 Deadlifts (250, 175#)
25 Box Jumps (30, 24″)
50 Pull-ups
100 Wall Balls (20, 14#)
200 Double-unders
400m run (45, 25#)

I really didn't quite grasp those push ups from a box.  Never figured out how to bend my elbows.  Oh well... I tried.

Deadlifts were heavy at 135lbs.

Box jumps were just 1 45lb. weight going as fast as I can.  At least I didn't stop during those.

Thought those wall balls were going to be the death of me.  My butt only hit that target a few times.  So much to work on with those from my butt hitting the target to not putting my elbows on my legs.  Then there's the whole stay on my heels thing.  DAMN!!! that's hard.  I spent a lot of time focusing on keeping my heels back.

Jump ropes are always torture.  But I'll get there with these one day.

And that run...

So I ventured into the question of doing 2 WOD's in a day.  It was recommended to do certain things at home.  I can agree with that with the only exception of running.  I don't think I can convince myself to run by myself early in the morning.  I'm not taking my dogs with me due to the number of cats that are left out in the neighborhood.  I don't run fast enough to tag along with those that do run.  I have to figure this one out.  Besides I'm just not that self motivated but am trying to be.  If I was, I wouldn't be fighting this battle of losing weight for 30 years and then some.

And that dreaded weigh in... I have no idea of my numbers other than they weren't good.  I didn't even ask.  Probably better that I don't know the numbers.  I just know after 3 months of trying and making some improvements in what I'm eating and still not seeing any results whether the scale or my clothes I'm just beyond frustrated right now.  Just grasping at straws to try to stay motivated and keep going.

December Goals

I can tell by my clothes I still haven't lost any weight and it seems like I'll be in that plateau hell for a very long time.  I haven't done a weigh in but that will come this week.  I really don't want to hear that I've gain muscle... that's just the lamest excuse to me especially when no body fat is lost.  I don't know who came up with that concept but they obviously never struggled with losing weight and getting healthy.

So the question now comes to what do I need to do to get the hell off this plateau?  I don't think I eat unhealthy but I know some things need to change.  So, the plan for now is to:

Drink a gallon of water a day
Eat more veggies and less fruit for lunch and dinner
Work out twice a day on Mon., Wed. and Fri.

I'm not sure about this last one so I'll see about entertaining it with the coach and then making a commitment to myself that I will work out at home on the other days.  I've seen WOD's posted such as for squats and burpees that I can do at home.  I've not been the greatest at doing the squats at home but that needs to and will change. I don't think the coach will have a problem with it but then I could be wrong.  I always get a little nervous approaching this subject.  I'm not sure how this is going to work within my work schedule and getting to work but I can at least try.

I know I am tired of being in this plateau and I know if I haven't lost any weight again this will be the 3rd month in a row it's going to send me spiraling downhill but I also feel like if I have a game plan in store then I know me well enough I'll focus on what I need to do so that at the end of Dec. I won't be facing this yet again.  Prepare for the worst and hope for the best as the saying goes and then if all else fails pick myself back up and keep it moving and work harder towards the ultimate goal.  Now, I just need to remember this when I do weigh in.  Easier said than done.
